Translation:

In the evening of Agust 15, 2002, in the capital city of Baghdad, a fatal crime was committed against the life of Sister Cecilia Moshe Hanna at the monastery of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The nun was murdered with a knife in her room at the monastery. We in the Assyrian Union for Women strongly condemn this terrorist and evil action committed by unknown people against this old nun.

Cecilia was born in 1931. She became a nun, dedicating her youth to the service of the poor and needy, and attending to the ill.

We are hereby appealing to all people who are concerned with human rights to help bring punishment to the perpetrators of this crime, and who are the enemy of humanity.

May the eternal consolation be with her soul.
