
At the outset of the meeting, President Amedi congratulated His Beatitude on his installation as Patriarch of the Chaldean Church, wishing him success in continuing the Church's spiritual and national mission.
President Amedi reaffirmed Iraq's pride in its rich religious and cultural diversity, describing the Christian community as "an essential and historic part of Iraq's national fabric" whose contributions have long enriched the country's cultural and social life. He also praised the role of the Chaldean Church in promoting "the values of moderation, human solidarity, and national cohesion."
"Protecting religious diversity and safeguarding the rights of all communities remain fundamental pillars of state-building and social stability," President Amedi said, stressing the importance of continued cooperation between religious and national institutions to promote moderation, fraternity, and a shared sense of citizenship.
He added that strengthening these values would support development and reconstruction efforts and further reinforce "Iraq's identity as a homeland that embraces all its people regardless of their backgrounds or beliefs."
For his part, Patriarch Mar Paulus III Nona expressed his appreciation to President Amedi for his continued support for preserving Iraq's diversity and strengthening the principles of citizenship and coexistence. "Our mission has always been rooted in promoting the values of love, tolerance, solidarity, and service to society," the Patriarch said, reaffirming the Chaldean Church's continued commitment to its spiritual and national role.
