(AINA) -- An Assyrian genocide conference will be held in Yerevan, Armenia on April 23-24, on the 97th anniversary date of the start of the Turkish genocide of Assyrians, Greeks and Armenians in World War One.
It is estimated that 750,000 Assyrians were killed in World War one (75%), 500,000 Greeks and 1.5 million Armenians.
The conference, titled Assyrian Genocide (1914-1923) and its Consequences in the Modern World, is organized by the Universal Scientific-Research, Cultural Centre Assyria, the Armenian Revolutionary Federation Dashnaktsutyun (ARFD) and the Democratic Party of Armenia (DPA).
