Stockholm (AINA) -- Assyrians Without Borders (AWB), based in Sweden, has announced its education scholarship program for Assyrians residing in Turkey, Iran, Iraq, Syria and Lebanon. Students residing in those countries are eligible for scholarships.
"The importance of education among the Assyrian people in the native country is large," says Thomas Aydin of AWB, "Unfortunately, this is often not possible because the students have difficulties in financing their studies. That is why Assyrians Without Borders supports Assyrian students studying at the university level with financial assistance."
The funds cover the academic year from February 1, 2010 to June 31, 2010. The application deadline is December 22, 2009.
