SYDNEY (Reuters) -- A 16-year-old boy has been charged with a terrorism offence for allegedly stabbing an Assyrian church bishop in Sydney during a church service, Australian police said on Friday, as investigations continued into a riot after the knife attack.

(BBC) -- Australian police have declared Monday's stabbing at a church in Sydney a "terrorist act". A 15-year-old boy was arrested after a bishop and several churchgoers were stabbed during the sermon. The incident happened in the evening at the Christ The Good Shepherd Church in the suburb of Wakeley. At least four people were stabbed but police say none of their injuries were life-threatening.
Fairfield (AINA) -- Assyrian Bishop Mari Emmanuel of Christ the Good Shepherd Church in Sydney was stabbed while live-streaming his sermon. Video shows the yet attacker stabbing the bishop multiple times before he is subdued by parishioners. Screams are heard from the parishioners as the attack unfolds. Another video posted on X shows the Bishop on a stretcher being wheeled to an ambulance.
