His Holiness Aram I received Ignatius Aphrem II Patriarch of the Syriac Orthodox Church. On Saturday evening, Patriarch Aphrem II accompanied by clergy from Syria and Lebanon visited His Holiness Aram I at the St. Mary's Monastery in Bikfaya. Armenpress was informed about it from the official website of the Great House of Cilicia. The Patriarch thanked the Catholicos for his presence at the conference commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Syriac Genocide in Turkey, and then they discussed ways for strengthening cooperation between the two communities in the Middle East and the Diaspora. In the end Patriarch Aphrem II apologized for not being able to attend the 100th anniversary commemorative ceremony of the blessing of the Holy Muron and related events planned for the end of the forthcoming week as he was leaving for the United States of America. He then informed His Holiness Aram I that a high level delegation will be present on behalf of the Church. Before leaving St. Mary's Monastery, the Patriarch and the Bishops visited the newly renovated monastery and memorial sites.
