Lebanese Forces leader, Samir Geagea.
Lebanese Forces leader, Samir Geagea, regretted in a statement on Friday the exodus of hundreds of Assyrians from their villages in the north-eastern side of Syria in the wake of a ghastly attack by ISIS against their territories. Geagea also spurned the destruction of the historic church of Tal Hermoz, which is one of the oldest churches in Syria. He fervently condemned "these terrorist acts in the region, namely the murder and persecution, as well as the displacement of hundreds of Assyrians." Geagea urged the Syrian people "to immediately intervene to free the hostages," calling on the Arab and international communities to swiftly intervene to save and help return the displaced to their homeland.
