Chicago (AINA) -- Assyrians of Chicago kicked off the celebration of Assyrian culture at Niles West High School in Skokie, a suburb of Chicago. This year the six week festival, called Coming Together In Skokie, features Assyrian people and culture.

The suburbs of Skokie and Niles have large Assyrian communities.

Coming Together is a collaborative project between Niles Township High School, Oakton Community College, the Indian Community of Niles Township, the village of Skokie, the Skokie library and others.
