One of Turkey's best five forces -- Special Forces of Tunceli (Dersim) 4th brigade launched large-scale operation against local Kurds. The sweeping was based on intelligence data saying Kurdistan Worker's Party (PKK) intends to assassinate on 11th year of party leader Abdullah Ocalan's arrest.

It is the fist military operation launched against Kurds in Tunceli in 2010 with involvement of professional soldiers.

Gunship helicopters discovered caches of rebels. The part of 4th brigade was withdrawn from Tunceli and deployed in Bingol, Elazig and Mush provinces.
