Los Angeles -- American Mesopotamian Organization (A.M.O.), a Political Action Committee was recently formed to help elect candidates, regardless of their political party affiliation, to all levels of government (Local, State and Federal) that will support the Assyrian nation* in its struggle to attain its humanitarian, cultural and political rights on its ancestral lands. The main objective of the organization will be to influence and guide US policy on matters of interest to the Assyrian American community.

- Mr. Josephe Bet-Shmuel- Treasurer
- Dr. Sargon Issa- Member, Board of Directors
- Mr. Sargon Kashto- Member, Board of Directors
- Mr. Sayros Yadegar- Member, Board of Directors
- Mr. Bel Lazar- MS, JD- Member, Board of Directors
American Mesopotamian Organization believes that the Assyrian nation is comprised of communities that belong to the following religious sects: Chaldean Catholic Church, Maronite Catholic Church, Assyrian Church of the East, Ancient Church of the East, Syriac Orthodox Church and Syriac Catholic Church, a variety of protestant and non-denominational churches and other communities from any other Christian sects or different religions that profess the Assyrian identity.
While A.M.O. respects all the different names that our nation has been identified with throughout the ages such as Chaldean, Syriac, or Aramean, it believes that the Assyrian name is the most appropriate national identity for this nation at this juncture. Individuals or organizations, who believe they are Chaldeans, Syriacs, or Arameans, are encouraged to join and support A.M.O.
