ANKARA, Turkey (AP) -- Turkey's military says its air force has attacked Kurdish rebel targets in northern Iraq.
The military says the jets bombed Iraq's Qandil mountains on Tuesday where it believes Kurdish rebel leaders hide and Kurdish insurgents train.
The military did not say whether the attack resulted in casualties. The Turkish warplanes last bombed the Qandil mountains on Dec. 5.
The Kurdistan Workers' Party has been fighting for self-rule in Turkey's southeast since 1984.
Turkey has launched several air force attacks and one major ground operation this year against rebel bases across the border with Iraq.
