(UPI) -- Five Saudi nationals have been killed in fighting with U.S. forces in Iraq in the past few days, reports said Saturday.

Daily al-Watan quoted unidentified security sources as saying that two of the Saudi fighters identified as Majed Matiti, 19, and Sultan Assiri, 26, both from the region of Kassim, north of Riyadh, traveled secretly to Iraq via Syria a few months ago and joined the Iraqi insurgents in the city of Fallujah.

The two were killed in confrontations with U.S. forces within the past few days, the sources added.

The other three included a nurse who worked in a public hospital and two students. They all traveled clandestinely to Iraq via Syria and got killed in fighting there.
